Mark Kaganman

Mark Kaganman, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 2nd with his beloved wife and daughter by his side.

He and his family were holocaust survivors. Mark was a refugee from the former USSR who was lucky to have the support of the Syracuse Jewish community and fellow refugees in the 1990s.

Professionally Mark was a mechanical engineer who designed many life enhancing machines in the former USSR, then resumed his career in Syracuse at GA Braun, then Hoffman Air, and retired from Carrier.

He enjoyed growing tomatoes in his backyard garden, was a natural medicine advocate and DIY’er. In retirement he was a translator at local hospitals and public schools.

Mark is survived by Yevgeniya, his wife of 50 years, and daughter Irene. He is also survived by cousin Sofa Kabakov of Chicago.
