I was deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of my cousin Warren. Warren was one of the kindest and sweetest people I know. Notwithstanding that we have lived on different continents for many years, we always kept in touch. If too much time had passed since our last call, Warren would always be sure that we kept in contact. Warren was always generous with his time and his friendship. If I needed a favor, he would do anything in his power to provide it. He always tried his best to make other people happy. I will always remember Warren's trip to visit me in Malta. We spent several days touring the island, eating at my favorite restaurants and discussing memories of our families, our respective philosophies of life and how to solve the problems of the world. Those few days will always remain one of my fondest memories of Warren. I will miss our chats and discussions, our too infrequent visits and most of all our friendship. Finally, my deepest condolences to Fern and to Warren's family. His passing has left a hole in all of our lives.

Warren always had a zest for life and a rare gift for bringing people together. I remember how hard he tried to get my twin and me to come to JD's 50th reunion - now I wish I had gone. Time moves faster than we realize, but Warren always made time to connect with others. I'll always cherish the funny DM message he once sent me about New Englanders - it showed his great sense of humor and thoughtfulness. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and Fern. Love, Karin ( Johnsen twin)

The Class of 1972 extends our deepest condolences to Warren's family and Fern. Warren was a bright light in all of our lives. He was the heart of our class and the keeper of JD memories. His love of music and arts, playing in the orchestra and connecting with us all was who he was. For me personally, he was an ear to get me through things as I was to him. Our work on the 50th reunion was rewarding and went superb. I will never forget you Warren and I will reflect on our time often. Be at peace my dear friend and you will be missed.

I was just going through all the FB chat correspondence I had with Warren the past nearly two decades... Warren was a man of a gentle spirit, an emotional temperament, a prodigious memory, a kind heart, and a deep affection for his friends and family. He would always stay in touch with a slight nudge or an endearing reminder. He truly loved his J-D Class of '72 and sought to keep in touch with as many of us as he could. As he often said, "family first!' His memory will remain a blessing for all who knew and cared for him. Om Shalom! ❤

Warren insisted i join him at a Syracuse Chiefs baseball game back in 1972. He appeared with his baseball glove ready to catch stray baseballs. He continued to hold out a helping hand to the many his entire life. He had a large warm heart that brought a smile to many. His deep stentorian voice would often appear on my answering machine with news of a classmate we could help. May his legacy stay fresh in our memories. Rob

Dear Fern and Family, Warren was a warm, hilarious, goofy, deal finder, train, bus, plane, music loving, caring guy. He was often thinking of others like when he brought Mark chicken riggie sauce from his hometown, and gave him some old Utica Club beer cans from his collection. He started a rumor at our party that I was running for mayor and started a chant. Finding what cruiseline friends were on and looking them up on the camera on the ship. Being the policeman on the Train of Terror at Six Flags, cracking us up, and trying to arrest us all. Letting everyone know that you Fern, carry 48 pounds of makeup in your 50 pound suitcase. Teasing you and others often to show his love. Making Fern and I laugh out loud every time he stood up at one on his concerts and banged those cymbals with all of his might. Warren was a one-of-a-kind guy who we will miss, but we will always remember in our hearts. Rest in Peace Warren. We love you. Lisa and Mark and Garrett Jones

On behalf of the Callanwolde Concert Band, we offer our sincerest condolences to Warren's family, friends, and colleagues. As many of you may know, Warren was a long-time Percussionist and Librarian in the Callanwolde Concert Band, and performed with several other music ensembles in the metro-Atlanta area. Warren left our band several years ago when his health began to fail. Many in our band last saw and talked with him when we performed at the William Breman Jewish Home last year in June. Regrettably, due to the distance from the Atlanta, Georgia area and Syracuse, we are unable to attend to pay our respects in person. We are thankful for the livestream option, which allows us to attend. Sincerely, Glenn G. R. Moore Conductor & Music Director Callanwolde Concert Band

What a wonderful service for Warren. Thank you. I have known Warren since middle school and am a member of his beloved and cherished JD Class of 72. We remained in touch over all these years, mostly through long phone calls and visits when he came to Chicago. He was one of a kind. Such a huge heart. Such a kind and generous man. His passing is such a loss for us all. Rest in peace my dear friend. I will miss you.

I am very sad to learn the news of Warren‘s passing. He was a fellow percussionist and a very nice guy! Warren‘s father was in Rotary and a past president of his Rotary club in New York State. Several years ago, Warren gave me his father‘s past president's pin, a Rotary wheel with a diamond in the middle. Ever since he gave it to me, I have worn it to every Rotary club meeting I attend. His father‘s pin now has an even more special meaning to me! May Warren's memory always be a blessing!
