He was a graduate of the Manlius Military Academy, and served in the Coast Guard in the early 1960’s. During his professional career Richard worked to promote small businesses. He established RSG Communications in the early 1970’s.
Richard was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, and also served on the board of directors of the Temple., he was a trustee for the Village of Manlius,; was a former President of Dewitt Rotary and an active member in their fundraising activities. He volunteered a s a little league baseball umpire for the village of Manlius for many years. .
He was passionate about golf and fishing… he never let one get away.
He was devoted to his family. His wife Elaine passed away in August of 2021.His family includes his sons Dr. Brett, and Peter (Aileen); grandchildren Tiger, Sequoia, Jackson, and Hudson; brothers Neil (Susan) and Harlan (Diane); his brother-in-laws Dr. Jerry (Judy) Laffer, and Stephen (Pam) Laffer; and his sister-in-laws Marilyn Masell, and Renee (Nick) Diakow; as well as a large and loving extended family.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 on Sunday March 30th at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family at the Funeral Chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street from 11:30 to 12:30 on Sunday.
Burial will be in Frumah Packard Cemetery.
The family especially thanks his doctor and friend, Dr. Ruth Weinstock for her years of caring for him
