Robert Silverman

Robert Silverman, 89, passed away at home from natural causes. Bob was born in Syracuse on September 30, 1934 to Philip and Helen Silverman.
He was a graduate of Great Neck HS, attended Central Tech, earned his undergraduate degree from Queens College, and his JD from NYU Law School. He was a practicing attorney with the Department of Social Services for Onondaga County for more than 30 years.
Bob was a member of Congregation Beth Sholom Chevra Shas, and the Onondaga County Bar Association. After retiring, he volunteered at University Hospital. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
His family who he adored includes his wife Harriet of 61 years, their son David (Jessica); their daughter Stephanie; their grandchildren Raia, and Samuel; his brother Stuart (Irene), and his sister Suzanne Cole. Their son Paul passed away this past July..
Funeral services will be at 2PM on Thursday the 19th with a visitation from 1 to 2 immediately prior to the service at Sisskind Funeral Chapel, 3175 E Genesee Street. Burial will be in the Beth Sholom section of Oakwood Cemetery.
The service will be live streamed on the Sisskind Funeral Service FaceBook page beginning at 1:55PM on Thursday the 19th.
A meal of condolence at Congregation Beth Sholom Chevra Shas will follow the cemetery service. Shiva will be observed Friday the 20th, and Sunday the 22nd from 2-4PM at Bob and Harriet’s home.
