Ronald Kameny, MD, died peacefully on Wednesday at Menorah Park. Born on June 30, 1934 to Joseph and Pearl Kameny in Brooklyn, he had been a resident of Syracuse for more than 60 years.
After graduating from Bates College, and then medical school in Vienna, Austria, Dr. Kameny served his internship at Kings County Hospital, followed by a residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. He was in private practice in Lynncourt for more than 25 years; followed by practicing at North Medical for 25 years until retiring. Ronnie always felt he was blessed to have been a practicing physician and care for people. He was respected and beloved by his patients and the medical community as well..
His family includes his wife Deborah; his sons David, and Sam, his daughter Dr. Marla (Dr. Daniel) Kameny Sage; Deborah’s daughters Amy Dimauro, and Beth (John) Murphy; his sister Joan Gelch; and grandchildren Oscar, Ruby, Eli, Katherine, and Gavin.
Funeral services will be at 11AM on Sunday at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service on Sunday from 10 to 11 at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
