I am so saddened by Al’s passing. I always looked forward to seeing and talking to him at Menorah Park when I visited. He was very friendly, very funny and interesting, and he made my dad and others around him light up. He was also a great listener. I could tell that he cared for people- family, friends and those he worked with, and I for one feel fortunate to have known him even for a short time. May Al’s memory be for blessing. So sorry to hear about Al’s passing. He was a wonderful person and will be sorely missed. He was a great friend to my dad, Abraham Strum, who lived on his floor at Menorrah Park. My dad so looked forward to hanging out with him in the Dining Room.. They once got “in trouble” for staying there extra long but they didn’t realize how long they were there because they were having a great time. They laughed a lot . They told stories about “the old days” since my dad used to live in Yonkers and New York City. Al will be greatly missed by everyone on the second floor that’s for sure. It was an honor to have met him and to have gotten to know him over the past few years.

My father in law was many things… son, brother, husband, grandfather to 5, state worker, drummer, baseball fan (Go Mets!!) He raised a wonderful son, and for that I am profoundly grateful. May he rest in peace.
