Rosalind Bodow, 102 1/2, passed away early Sunday morning at Menorah Park. Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 3, 1920 to Harry and Esther Ozinsky, she was raised in Brooklyn with her 3 siblings. On a chance visit to Syracuse in 1936 Ros met her future husband Chuck and the rest is history.
They were married in 1941 and Chuck went off to war. Ros had been living with her parents in Brooklyn while Chuck was serving his country. Their first child Wayne was born in Brooklyn. When Chuck was discharged, they returned to SYracuse as they welcomed Marc, and Andrea to their growing family. Ros was a homemaker, but also was a dental assistant to Dr. Henry Cramer. In 1976 Ros decided that she would now work side by side with her beloved husband in their family business Bodow Recycing. Sadly Chuck passed away in 1992.
She was a lifetime member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, and was especially active in the sisterhood of the Temple. In retirement in Boynton Beach, FL she was the chair of the social committee for her community. Ros’s home was always the place to be for friends and family to gather and enjoy great food and company. She loved to entertain.
Her family includes her children Wayne (Lillian Steinmann), Dr. Marc (Debby), and Andrea (Stan) Knoller; grandchildren Amy (Dean), and Elana (fiancé Chris); Eric, Danielle, and Amanda; Eric (Dr. Ting), and Bari; and great grandchildren Major; Joshua, Jeremy, Samuel; Mia, and Hannah.
There is also a large and loving extended family.
Services will be at 11AM on Thursday at Temple Adath Yeshurun. Friends may visit with the family forms 10-11AM at the Temple, 450 Kimber Road immediately prior to the service.
Shiva will be observed at Andrea and Stan’s home on Thursday from 7-9PM, Friday from 1-4, and Sunday from 1-4 and 7-9. Contributions in her memory may be made to Temple Adath Yeshurun.
The service will be livestreamed at www.adath.org, and press the play button on StreamSpot box

My love and deepest sympathies go out to the entire Bodow families and all of their extended families. Knowing Roz was a privilege and honor. I loved her smiling face and her loving hugs. I always felt like family, she was my surrogate mom. I will forever miss her. Praying all of her family find joy and strength in her memories, her kindness her love. With love, Audrey, Richard, Danielle, Rob, Robbie, Jovie, Eric, Andrea, Norah, Carson, Allison, Monica and Owen (another part of her extended family)

Ros was a Matriarch for her family and her community. Her nurturing and love is forever woven into her needle points. Our four grandchildren have been recipients of her hand crafted treasures. No one spoke as enthusiastically, at full volume and with such overflowing warmth as Ros. Whenever we reminisce about her, the vivid images in our memories include Andrea and Ros beaming at intergenerational family simchas. Let’s also not forget her culinary expertise.
