Jose and Billy, I am gutted. To lose Ed and Jim in the same year is just devastating. Both of them fought so hard. My phone number is in Jim's phone. I just texted him yesterday and feared the worst when I didn't hear from him. Be well. I will keep you bought in my prayers.

I was so devastated to see that Dr Donovan had passed away. He was one of the most kindest man I had ever had the pleasure meeting. His treatment of people was from the heart, which was what made him such a great doctor. RIP sweet man.

Dr. Vargas & Billy, So hard to find the right words to convey my sadness & bring condolence to you both. I had only met Dr. Donovan once and unfortunately that was at your Daughter's Wake. However reading the messages on Syracuse.com, it seems that Jim was loved by all who knew him. And knowing you Jose, he must have been a very special person. May memories of a life well lived and happier times sustain you in the coming days. We will not be able to attend services so we will keep you in our hearts and prayers. If you need to take a break you are welcome to come visit us out West any time, as Bud & I have retired and moved to New Mexico. May Jim Rest in Peace. ~kdt~

As a long-time patient of "Dr. D", I am devastated to learn of his passing. His casual yet knowledgeable approach to medicine was a gift. There will never be another one like him. Sympathy to his family and friends. I will always remember him fondly.

From those crazy days of medical school through the decades to now, today, our love and friendship never waivered. I already miss my study buddy and gleeful protagonist. Jose, my goes out to you and I am here for hugs or for a walk through memory lane should you want. Peace, my sweet friend. Pat
