Leslie Barton Abramovitz

Leslie Barton Abramovitz, 79, passed peacefully on August 20 in Charlotte, NC. Leslie had a long successful career in pharmaceutical sales and also owned his own brokerage business. He was an avid swimmer at the YMCA, enthusiastic card player and loved the casinos. He will be remembered for his quick wit and many neighborhood firework displays.
Leslie proudly served in the US Army, and the reserves from 1965-1977.
Leslie was pre-deceased by his wife Ronni Waltzer Abramovitz of 47 years. His lifelong devotion to his wife who suffered with breast cancer followed by a 5 year battle with ALS will never be forgotten.
His family includes their children Pam (Bill) Glatter, Amy (Mike) Brasley, and David (Alexis Kropp) Abramovitz, their grandchildren Ryan & Sarah Brasley, Natalie and Jacob Glatter, and Max Abramovitz and his sister Barbara (Dallas) Forbes.
In Leslie’s memory contributions may be made to Levine and Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville NC 28078 or Hearts of ALS, Rochester NY.
A private ceremony will be held at Beth El Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to virtually attend the service by visiting the Sisskind Funeral Service Facebook page at 10:55AM on Monday August 24th. I am sad. Les was a good person. I didn't know him well, but he was one of those people in high school who was always friendly. I helped him with his paper route when he was on vacation. And I always carried good thoughts about him. So sorry that we lost touch.
