Minnie Rossoff, 97, died peacefully at her home in Clay Thursday morning. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on November 11, 1922 to Samuel and Dora Albert. After WWII Minnie and Isaac settled in Massena where they raised their family and had their interior decorating business until retiring in 1981. They moved to Liverpool in 1986; then to The Oaks of Dewitt in 2011; and in 2014 moved to Clay.

Together they raised four children while working side by side every day for more than 40 years.
They were active members of Adath Israel Synagogue in Massena. Minnie was an integral part of the success of Hadassah, and The Women’s Auxiliary.

Her kindness and generosity of spirit will be greatly missed. She was a gentle, kind soul who was loved by everyone who was privileged to have known her.

She was pre-deceased by their son Gerald Philip Rossoff in 1979.

Her family includes her husband Isaac of more than 76 years; their daughters Harriet (Irving) Zucker; Norma (Jason) Searns; and Judith Rossoff; grandchildren Danielle, Sean, Adam (Claire), Stuart (Ashley), and Gregory (Amanda); and great grandsons Abraham, and Everett.

Graveside services are in Adath Israel Cemetery.

With fond memories of this entire family, my wife -- Joyce Nichols Straight -- and I wish to convey our condolences, our love, and prayers for family members at this difficult time. Loss is never easy, and it is especially difficult when we lose our wife or our mother. Be grateful for the many years you had her, and comfort yourselves and each other with the memories. We are so sorry for your loss and for the fact that pandemic virus contagions are making this time even more challenging for your family.

Dearest Judy, I am very grateful to have known Minnie and to have had the opportunity to witness her sweet spirit. Judy, I hope your sadness at having to say "Goodbye" to your dear mother will eventually be overcome by the awareness that you were her rock, and the best caregiver any mother could ever imagine or wish for. I love you, my friend, and I pray for your broken heart, for Isaac, and for your sisters as well. May God bless you all and bring you His peace and comfort. Love, Di

Dear Uncle Isaac, Cousins Norma, Harriet and Judy. I am so sad to learn of great-Auntie Minnie’s passing. I think of her so fondly as a sweet, gentle lady and an excellent cook. I’ll never forget her chili and jam cookies and the precious time spent when I came to visit a handful of times with my parents. Sending everyone strength at this time and may happy memories help you through this difficult time.
