Dorothy K. Grower, 91, died Tuesday evening at Sunnyside Nursing Home. She was born in Syracuse on September 24, 1928 to Morris and Irene Hafter Karlson. Dorothy lived most of her life in Syracuse until retiring to Ocala,FL, then Peachtree City, Ga. She returned to Syracuse in 2011.
Dorothy had been a sales clerk for Chappell’s for many years. Her customers appreciated her caring, personal service. She was a former member of Temple Adath Yeshurun.
She was pre-deceased by her sisters Evelyn Mallin, Ethel Volinsky, and Shirley Grower.
Her family includes her daughters Eileen (John) Blair, and Roberta Youngs; her son Howard; her granddaughters Nicole and Melissa; and great grandsons Warren, and Holden.
Funeral services will be at 2PM on Monday January 6 at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service on Monday at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street,
from 1:30 to 2PM. Burial will be in Frumah Packard Cemetery.
