Murray Rutner

Murray N. Rutner, 72, died peacefully Monday at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Brooklyn he had been a resident of Syracuse since 1967. He was a school psychologist for the North Syracuse Central school district until retiring. He was a founding, active member of Congregation Shaarei Torah.
He taught b’nai mitzvah students throughout the community and was a lay leader of the shul.
His family includes his wife Fay of 49 years; their children
Michael (Marilyn) Rutner; David (Deena) Rutner; and Danielle (Michael) Holland; grandchildren Kayla, Andrew, Sarina, Hailey, Emily, and John; and his sister Lisa (Martin) Stark.

The family also thanks Murray’s caregivers Kay, Nyri, Gwen, and Lori for their incredible care and warmth which made a wonderful difference in his life.

Funeral services will be promptly at 1PM Wednesday December 26, at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. There will not be a calling hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Shaarei Torah section of Oakwood cemetery.

Shiva will be observed at the family home Wednesday following the service;
Thursday, Friday until 4PM, Saturday evening, and Sunday through Tuesday. www.sisskindfuneralservice.com
