Rabbi Paul S. Drazen

Rabbi Paul Stuart Drazen 67, died Wednesday evening at home with his family by his side.
Born in St. Louis, he was a former resident of Omaha, NE where he was the Rabbi
at Beth El Synagogue from 1982 to 2002. Rabbi Drazen then worked for United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism from 2002 to 2015 serving in many capacities. In 2015 Rabbi Drazen was asked and accepted the position of Rabbi at Temple Adath Yeshurun. In his relatively brief tenure in Syracuse his impact was profound. His leadership and wisdom will be greatly missed.

His family includes his wife Susie, children Gila (Rob Vincent) Drazen, Yonah (Megan Sanders-Drazen) Drazen, his brother Dr. Jeffrey (Erica) Drazen, his sister Judy (David) Goldis, his brother-in-law Richard (Deborah) Alpert, and a large and loving extended family.

Funeral services will be at noon on Friday June 15 at Temple Adath Yeshurun. Burial will Sunday in the Sheboygan Hebrew Cemetery.

Shiva will be observed Sunday through Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 at Temple Adath Yeshurun. Contributions in Rabbi Drazen's memory may be made to The Drazen Family Educational Experience Fund at Temple Adath Yeshurun, or Camp Ramah in Wisconsin.

So sorry for your loss, we have known many wonderful rabbis but Paul stood out as the finest we've known.

Susie, I am very saddened to hear this news. I recall with pleasure the times you and Rabbi Drazen visited Congregation Ahavath Israel in Kingston, NY. Rabbi Drazen was always a magnificent teacher and a great resource when I had questions about the synagogue. My condolences to you and your family. May his memory be for a blessing.
