Benjamin Vincent Koss

Benjamin Vincent Koss, 38, died early Thursday morning at SUNY Upstate Hospital as a result of a motorcycle accident. Born in Bakersfield, CA, he had been a resident of Syracuse since 1975. Ben attended junior high at CBA, and high school at JD. He graduated from OCC with a degree in radio and television, and continued his education at Buffalo State where he earned his degree in engineering. He was a mechanical engineer for the Delphi Company of Ohio, then for the Caterpillar Company in Charleston, SC, and most recently for PPC of E. Syracuse. Ben held three patents related to assembly line streamlining.
Services will be at noon Sunday, April 21 at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service from 11-noon at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street.
He was predeceased by his aunt Carol Anne Maloney
Survived by his parents Irwin and Kathleen; his brother Seth (Christina Maroni); his nephew Jacob; his grandmother J. Patricia Neely; and his uncle Christopher (Michele Walsh) Malone. Burial will be in Beth El Cemetery. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to SBH.org

Kathy and Irwin, John and I are absolutely heartbroken. I still remember the first time Ben walked into our house on Niven street. Little red turtleneck sweater and overalls. Cute little smile and dimples...made a beeeline right to the TV. Our thoughts and prayer are with you and the rest of the family. God Bless

My condolences to you all. He was a truly kind hearted and adventurous soul. He touched so many people's lives in positive ways, and was always full of innovative ideas. I am truly sorry for your loss.
