Edith Pilcher, born August 14, 1928, a long time resident of Schenectady, passed away
peacefully on February 4, 2018. She had Alzheimer’s disease. Edie was most passionate about the Adirondacks. It was her, and her husband Ennis Pilcher’s favorite place on earth. Some of her many accomplishments include authoring four books on Adirondack history and being a playful and loving grandmother to all her grandchildren. She also had a love of adventure, travelling around the globe, including living in Sweden and Ethiopia on Ennis’s sabbatical. She was a staunch advocate of the Adirondacks, and was one of the founding members of the Adirondack Research Center. She will be remembered for her love of words, her off key singing and her zest for life.
She is predeceased by her husband Ennis Pilcher, and is survived by her two children, Steven Pilcher (wife Ann Pilcher), and Dorothy Pilcher; and her five grandchildren. Fond memories of her live on. May she rest in peace. www.sisskindfuneralservice.com
