Joel Savlov, 86, died early Thursday morning at St. Joseph’s hospital as a result of
complications related to his dementia. Born in Carbondale, PA he had been a resident of Syracuse since 1952. Joel was the former manager of Weight Watchers of Syracuse. He was a member of Drumlins Golf Course where he enjoyed playing golf for more than 50 years. He was a season ticket holder and avid fan of SU sports.
Joel was a kind and gentle man who was a devoted friend. He will be missed by all.
His family includes his wife Shirley of 64 years; their children Carolyn (Jim) Simmons,
Scott Savlov, and David (Kelly) Savlov; grandchildren Emily, Dan (Melissa), Brian, Jason, and Matthew; and great granddaughters Madison, and Teagan.
Funeral services and burial are private for the immediate family.
Contributions in Joel’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
