Burton Lowitz

Burton Lowitz, 85, died Monday at the Syracuse VA hospital. Born in 1930 to Max and Ida Lowitz in Newark, NJ Burton was a veteran of the US Air Force, and a member of the Jewish War Veterans. He and his late wife Dorothy settled in Syracuse where they raised their family and enjoyed a good life. Burt was a practicing attorney in Syracuse for over 50 years; a member of the Onondaga County Bar Association; a former supervisor of the Town of Dewitt; and a former member of Temple Concord. He was an avid golfer and member of Drumlins CC, and a great fan of SU sports.
He is survived by his children Susan, Karen (Noah), and Marc (Julie); and his grandchildren Hilary, Spencer, and Sydney. Services and entombment in the Temple Concord Mausoleum are private for the immediate family. Contributions in his memory may be made to Parkinson’s research. www.sisskindfuneralservice.com

Sue....so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Though I know he was having a hard time of it physically of late I know it still must be hard for you to say goodbye to him. You have been an amazingly devoted daughter to your dad and I am sure he was so very grateful and loved you for it.

Sue, You have been an amazing daughter to your father and I have often watched and heard of your true love and devotion to him. My mother used to say there is a special place in heaven for children who care for their aging parents, that place awaits you. I'm sorry for your loss. Burt was a unique and interesting man.
