Roz was a member and former trustee of Temple Concord, a life member of Hadassah, the National Council of Jewish Women and the Auxiliary of Crouse Hospital. In 1973 she received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the Syracuse Jewish Federation for leading the Federation's Women's Campaign. Roz was especially proud to have brought “Reach to Recovery”, a breast cancer support group to Syracuse, which became part of the American Cancer Society program
She was a member of Lafayette Country Club and the Cavalry Club; loved to play golf; enjoyed gardening; and was also an avid Syracuse University football and basketball fan and rarely missed attending a SU home football game. Anyone that knew Roz knew her resiliency, her heartfelt emotions and her deep capacity for loving her entire family and friends. She generously shared her life experiences and wisdom, loved the arts, a good laugh and was an avid sports fan. She had much enthusiasm for life, saw the good in all and will be missed by everyone she touched throughout a long rich life.
Roz was predeceased by her brother Norman, her husbands Isaiah “Cy” Wolfson in 1977; Samuel Greene in 1978; and Samuel "Mike" Gingold in 1995.
She is survived by her three sons Robert (Mary Kathryn) Wolfson of Atlanta GA; Warren (Carole Kametz) Wolfson of Liverpool, NY; and Daniel (Diana) Wolfson of Highland Park, NJ; and Mike’s children Mary Jo Gingold of Florida, and Harvey (Joyce) Gingold of Florida; her grandchildren Tara (Nathaniel) Wolfson; Scott (Luz) Wolfson; Lynn (Chris) Rhea; Julian GG Wolfson; Elinor (Jeffrey) Hitt; Clifford (Michelle) Hale, and Evan Gingold; as well as her great-grandchildren Petra, Mandela, Samuel, Wilson, Ella, Jacob, and Mason.
The family wants to thank all of those at the Oaks, Menorah Park and Home Aides, in particular Debbie Barney and Lynn Searle who gave Roz such good care in her later years.
Funeral Services will be at 11AM, Wednesday, August 5 at Temple Concord.
Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service on Wednesday,
from 10AM to 11AM at the Temple, 910 Madison Street. Burial will be in the Temple

Dear Wolfson Family, Alan and I are so saddened by "Cousin Roz's" passing. She was special to both of us. Her smile lit up a room and her humor and postive outlook on life were what we will remember. Rest in Peace, dear Roz. You earned it.
